Dr. Richard Thompson obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology (Hon) from the University of Western Ontario in London, with particular academic focus in biomechanics and human physiology. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, where he maintains an ongoing relationship as a member of the college.
Dr. Thompson has been actively involved in competitive sports since early childhood. Having played competitive volleyball, hockey, and soccer, his interest in Chiropractic was formed early thanks to the various sports injuries that came with the territory. As such, his current day practice involves a special area of interest in sport related injury and performance.
Dr. Thompson’s clinical practice has been based on first determining a clear and concise diagnosis before an evidence based treatment plan is implemented and thoroughly discussed with the patient. By looking at the overall cause for pain and injury, rather than the symptoms the injury evokes, his various treatment modalities and techniques can be applied very specifically and effectively for a quick resolution of the problem(s). Dr. Thompson attributes much of his clinical success to being a certified practitioner in Active Release Techniques® for over 10 years, which has taken his palpation, diagnostic, and treatment skills to the next level. He maintains his ART® credentials annually at seminars throughout North America where he works with elite athletes from all over the world. He also became an Ironman® Network Provider after completing onsite training and treatment at the Ford Ironman in Phoenix, Arizona in 2011.

Paul’s interest in biomechanics and injury led him to a seasonal lecture position at Cape Breton University, where he teaches 1st and 3rd-year students about injury, rehabilitation, and biomechanics. Paul’s knowledge of the biomechanics of musculoskeletal injuries expanded his treatment interests in manual therapy, segmental dry needling and functional assessment. Using a goal-oriented approach to treatment, he focuses on the client’s outcome and success definition.
With interest in healthcare and rehabilitation innovation, Paul co-founded Talem AI, an AI company that automates insurance claim processing. Megan graduated from Island Career Academy with honours in the Massage Therapy Program. After realizing a career in communications would not be fulfilling, a change was needed.
It was important to Megan to integrate her love of health, fitness and wellness with the desire to help people. Combining these attributes just seemed to flow directly towards massage therapy. Being able to use her hands to therapeutically influence a person’s own health journey is something that Megan really devotes to her practice. She will continue to pursue more techniques and modalities to aid not only herself, but all patients that come through her practice.
Megan grew up in Ontario and visited family in Nova Scotia during the summer months. This led her to fall in love with the area and lifestyle that so many adore about Cape Breton. Running and hiking on the numerous trails throughout Cape Breton is one her favourite pastimes. Megan believes that stepping into nature, whether in the trees or by the sea will heal your soul. Together nature and massage therapy can encourage harmony in a person’s mind, body, and soul.
Megan is a professional member of the Massage Therapy Association of Nova Scotia and recipient of the MTANS award for her graduating class.
